Gratitude changes everything

There's nothing in life that's more powerful that gratitude.

You can have everything you ever wanted in life, but if you bitch and complain all the time you are not happy. Then you can be the poorest person with nothing, no money and no possessions, but he is grateful for all the things in his life and he is completely happy.

What does the poor man have to be grateful for, you might think. And I'll tell you!! All the things you take for granted, all the things you have that money can't buy. All the things that are so important for any person to feel any kind of happiness or joy.
These are the basic needs of any person rich or poor; friends, family, respect, honor, the air you breath, the breeze on you face, your health, your inner peace, your ability to think, feel and to experience.

What you take for granted

The fact that you can look at the sky every day, watch the birds fly over your head, smell the air, hear the leafs shake on a tree, listen to the stillness when snow falls, feel the love that surrounds you, taste the food when you chew. All these things we take for granted and all these things are irreplaceable. If you lose them, chances are you will never regain them.

Gratitude changes everything when you make it your daily habit

I know I say this a lot, but having a ritual or a habit to give thanks before you get out of bed in the morning is so important for setting an intention for the day ahead. When you wake up, stretch and give thanks for something you are grateful for, and feel it. You set an intention for the day that you are grateful and more things to be grateful for is coming your way. Because where attention goes, energy flows. If you wake up in the morning with a grin on your face thinking you don't want to get up, you're to tired, you can't think of one happy thing you get to do today. This puts you in a spiral of negativity and bad things will follow you. You might stump your toe as you get out of bed, all the hot water is gone when you're trying to take a shower. Traffic is terrible and you get a lot of complaints throughout the day.

What does your day look like

Think about your day today and think it backwards. What are you doing now, what did you do that lead up to this moment? You will notice there's a connection between what happens to you and what you intended to happen. All of today's actions and thoughts brought you to this exact moment, and it drew me to writing this so you could read it. Everything is connected and whatever you set your mind to is what you will see, get and experience.

Like when you want to buy a new car, you have your eye on this very specific car and you like that no one has the exact same car. Then suddenly you start noticing this car everywhere. On billboards, on TV, in the street you see that the neighbour has friends with that exact car. This is not because it's suddenly very popular it's just that you didn't notice it before, because you didn't give it any attention.

The moral of Gratitude changes everything

My moral or reason for writing this is to get you to understand the importance to Be aware of how you start your day! Give thanks in the morning and when you have that down as a habit, as something you have to do every day, start giving thanks in the evening as well. Start and finish your day with gratitude and your own outlook on life will change in just a short time. You will have more fun, you will feel more at peace with yourself, you will find more joy in the little things you used to think was insignificant activities. Overall your life will feel more valuable to you.

Gratitude changes everything, even the people closest to you

The fun part is when your friends and loved ones starts to notice the shift in you. They might not consciously understand it, but their subconscious will notice and people live there life as a mirror to what they meet. If you are more at peace and harmonious they will start behaving the same way unconsciously. Try it out and when you notice a change in people around you as well, come back to this blog and leave me a comment. I love a good story!!
